This Apollo 4A50402F freeze-resistant pressure vacuum breaker with ball valve and SAE threaded test cocks is made of bronze for higher strength and corrosion resistance than brass, and has stainless steel handles. This valve has a freeze-resistant pressure vacuum breaker to help prevent backflow and a modular cartridge check valve with replaceable seats and reversible chloramine-resistant silicone seat discs. This low pressure loss valve has Society Automatic Engineers (SAE) threaded test cocks to prevent backflow. This valve has 3/4" female National Pipe Taper (NPT) threads for connecting two male threaded pipe fittings. It is pressure rated to 150 pounds per inch (psi) at an operating temperature range of 33 to 140 degrees F. This freeze-resistant pressure vacuum ball valve is suitable for use in residential and commercial plumbing applications.Ball valves use a spherical disc to control the flow between pipes, tubes, or hoses. Flow is allowed when the hole that pierces the ball-shaped disc is in line with the inlet and outlet of the valve and is blocked when the ball is horizontally swiveled 90 degrees, so that the hole of the ball is perpendicular to the opening of the valve.
